Adults with ADHD often have a dual diagnosis of ADHD and one of these or other disorders. As many as 50% of adults with ADHD report also having depression, and the same number report problems with anxiety.

We've been told that stress is harmful to our health, that it increases our pain levels but what if that was a misconception? What if there was a way of making stress work for us rather than against us. It's all about perception. Stress is only harmful to us when we believe it is.

Although therapy can feel a little scary, the first meeting should be a time that gives you a sense of relief. You will not solve all of your problems during the first session, but you should feel as if you have a person that understands you, is willing to work with you, and genuinely cares about helping you to reach your goals.

Women tend to strive more for excellence; to prove themselves. Not that men don't feel they need to prove themselves, but women have an extra push to show that they are smart, knowledgeable, capable, and able to handle just about anything and everything. Research shows that women are still not as "committed" as men. Women are often referred to as bossy when they are actually being assertive.

This winter I found I was ready to fully accept my illness. It was no great epiphany. It was a process. Why it took me ten months after sitting under the tree, I’ll never know.
