Support Group For People Going Through Separation and Divorce

Ongoing therapeutic divorce support groups that meet weekly, every other Wednesday evening. The group is lead by a master level therapist and has a mix of members that range from newly separated, separated from a committed relationship, and in the process of getting divorced to after the divorce is final. Bring your questions and experiences. Share at the level you feel comfortable. This is a place where you are welcomed to talk about what is happening in your life with people that can understand and really “get” what you are going through.

Within the group you will find understanding, support and encouragement through both your personal sharing, as well as through hearing the different stories, perspectives and experiences of others. In the group we process, validate and normalize our experiences. Together we find new strengths, clarity and direction.

Some of the issues we talk about are:
The losses
The loss of your partner, your sense of family and the loss of “the dream”

The changes
The changes in the structure of your daily life and in your identity
The changes in your home life and with family and friends

The challenges
Making legal decisions while you are grieving or angry
Rediscovering who you are outside of your relationship
Creating healthy boundaries between you and your ex that fosters healing

The children
Suddenly becoming a single parent
Your children are getting caught in the middle

Finding a new normal
Finding new dreams for the future
The four letter word “date” and healthy relationships for the future

Going through separation and divorce can be like riding a roller coaster of emotions. At first you may feel completely overwhelmed. Then as time passes, you find yourself beginning to feel hopeful for the future only to be knocked down again by black cloud of sadness, anger, anxiety or confusion. If you are having experiences like these they are completely normal. The ending of a significant relationship is a major life transition and a time of great change.

If you think it might be helpful to join with others who can understand what you are going through, where you are free to express how you feel and be accepted, call or email for more information and to join. Begin getting the support you want now.

You don’t have to go it alone.
