Jewish clients sometimes want to visit a Jewish psychologist. I am Jewish, have raised my children Jewish and have married within my faith. However, regardless of the religion of my clients I am extremely respectful of all faiths...even of those who have lost their faith whether it be Jewish/Christian or any other religion or non-belief system. Sometimes through trauma or illness people have lost their former relationship with God and are searching for answers and need to express anger and doubt. I provide a place for all those who need to speak to a careful impartial listener. We do not need to be the same religons for me to help.

My motto is, "You can have Jesus and a therapist"! I think it is important for people to know that some things require more than prayer. God placed people here with special skills to be able to help others during trying times. Personally, my faith seems to be the only thing in my life that makes sense. However, our faith can be the source of strength that we need to face and overcome most of life’s challenges. I meet with people of different faiths and explore with them how their faith gives them the courage and motivation to overcome their biggest problem. It is difficult to separate faith from everyday life, so why not use faith to live life to the fullest? We can make this journey together.

I am a deeply spiritual Jewish person, and utilize a spiritual and existential perspective to organize my thinking and my work with patients. The phenomenon of the intergenerational passage of psychological issues, defenses, and abusive behavior relates to a well known quote from Isiah, that "the fathers have eaten sour grapes and the children's teeth are set on edge." Another biblical quotation I find useful in working to reduce guilt and imrpove personal strength and healthy entitlement, is, "If I am not for me, who will be?" Christian Counseling can take you into a peaceful setting, for you to be at your inner-self. My private environment, and private office will help heal any irrational thoughts you might have. At times a commercial setting can be irritating and uncomfortable to be at peace. Certainly we might find God to be the answer, but, we have to first find ourselves and inner feelings to strenghtened any irrational thoughts to rational thoughts.

I have been a Psychologist for 20 plus years. About 10 years ago, I took training in Pastoral Formation. After completing this program, I have been the chair of a Mental Health Ministry at a Catholic Church. Did you know that one of the best psychology books ever written was the Bible. In my therapy with clients who are open to their Christianity, we explore the use of their spirituality to help heal their wounds and create more fulfilled and meaningful life with " God" as the engine behind their personal power. The power of the spirit can enable tremendous personal and systemic growth and change.

I do believe spirituality and hope bring about change and healing. I believe in Nature, the earth, water, and feel that people need community to heal. I believe the earth and the moon floating around in space is a miracle, and that what we read is minimal to what we see. I believe in universal "energy," and why its true I couldn't quote the bible, I believe in things I can't see.
