When a couple desires it, I can draw on my several decades of pastoral work and theological education to help them with their family and marital problems. I hold a Masters of Divinity from Regent College and before being licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist, I pastored churches in New York and Texas and served as Campus Ministry staff in Wisconsin. I am a practicing Christian and ascribe to the values of my faith. I work with clients of all religious affiliations, and walks of life, and respect our differences. During each intake session, I assess my client's religious preference and desire to incorporate their faith or spirituality into our therapy work. I believe we are created as spiritual beings, and have a need that can only be filled with the truth and grace that comes from a relationship with God. Too often folks deny this aspect of themselves and attempt to fill this space with other things, only leading to further discomfort and discontent within themselves and the relationships in their lives. The first thing you should know about me is that I am a Christian and that I believe that the Bible is the word of God. Hebrews Chapter 4 and verse 12 says that "...the word of God is living and active..." I believe that this verse is true and help Bible believing Christians understand not only what the Bible says but what it will mean for them to line up their life in accord with it. I do not use the Bible as a weapon but as a gentle guide as I remind people not only about the promises, and power of God but the requirements He has for us.
