Anger can permeate all aspects of our lives. Learning the tools to diffuse anger will allow you to live a healthier happier life. Together, we will source the anger, recognize where is stems from, notice it, and begin to heal the wounds that cause the anger flare up allowing you to respond in a meaningful way in place of an instance reaction to your stressors.

Chris provides anger management counseling and psychotherapy where he is a Certified Anger Management Specialist (CAMS) where helps clients identify the reasons for anger and rage. Often the client might have other reasons for anger and mood swings. Often anger can be a problem in a marriage or relationship leading to safety concerns. Chris Colasuonno, LCSW-R provides assessment and therapy for anger. Some individuals may not recognize the cause for the anger or know how to get treated. Sometimes anger can be a mental health issue of bipolar or depression. Finding the reasons and offering solutions is one of my specialties.

As a trained specialist in Anger mangement you will learn that Anger is an emotion that you can control!! especially when you have been mistreated or wronged. the feeling isnt the problem its what you do with it that makes a difference. I offer certifcate programs for mandated court clients who are in need of anger management classes. I offer classes or individual counseling.

Anger is a cover and protector for deeper emotions hiding underneath. I provide a safe space for the client to be vulnerable with their emotions and so we can understand what anger is “trying to tell us”. By exploring the anger without judgement we allow more vulnerable feelings to surface which can help us understand what the anger is protecting.

During sessions I will utilize CBT anger management interventions to target the emotional and physiological elements of anger, the cognitive (thinking/behavioral) processes that drive dysfunctional anger, and/or social and communication skills. In addition, I will also use psychodynamic therapy so I can help you examine the psychological roots of your anger and your response to it, so that you can identify and correct unhealthy patterns.
