Families are complicated systems that start with birth and continue throughout life, regardless of age. Finding new ways to relate to family members that reduce or eliminate turmoil and lead to more satisfaction for everyone involved is the aim of family therapy. From parenting dilemmas with children within the home, blended families, co-parenting through divorce, or adults having difficulty with parents later in life, there is a way to calm the troubled waters and emerge refreshed with clear solutions in hand.

Working with teens and families is one of my favorite aspects of my practice. Learning about each individual family's culture--the unspoken rules, the traditional ways of communicating and setting boundaries, is the first step to bringing about the changes that many families long for: increased intimacy, improved communication, safety, trust, belonging. We also provide programming for families with an addicted member. Learning ways to deepen insight, improve communication, set strong flexible boundaries and enjoy leaning into a morning or afternoon of self care proves for an empowering opportunity for growth and healing.

Familes create complicated systems and part of my work is to identify the systems that are in place. Some of what I look for include identifying the roles each member takes, the communication patterns, power issues, where aliances form, the rule system (both spoken and unspoken rules), Family work is both challenging and rewarding as we work together to establish strong family bonds, heal past wounds and improve communication

I like to help people get a long better. Relationships are vitally important to our existence as human beings and they are highly valued by our Creator God. Learning how to love one another - especially those within our own family - is paramount. My desire is to restore proper boundaries, help mediate conflict, and to empower parents and children.
