Theravive has a unique method of marketing that takes your specializations, and individually markets them in all of your listing locations. This results in numerous distinct and completely separate pages that are all highly tailored in your area for Google, Bing, Yahoo, and all other major search engines. For example: someone in Oakland who goes to Google and types "eating disorders Oakland" would not find your listing on a static directory for counseling. But on Theravive, because we aggressively market for eating disorders (as well as many other specialties), you can be quickly found.

All of our cities are strictly limited. Several cities already have wait lists of over a year. Once space is filled up in your city, we will shut it down. We already have hundreds of cities closed and hundreds more with just space for one more therapist. The good news is, once you are in a city, you will not be bumped out. As long as you renew each year, it is yours. Why do we do this? Two reasons.

First, by limiting the number of therapists in any given area, it keeps YOUR referrals stronger, and more consistent. We truly aim to provide quality, effective marketing. Other directories will cram as many therapists as possible into a city with no regard to limits. That might make them extra dollars, but it doesn't help therapists any. For example, Psychology Today's Therapy Directory (which is based in the Cayman Islands...we wonder why that is) has over 1,000 therapists listed in New York City. That means that therapists on PT in New York have to compete heavily with each other just to get clients to notice them. By limiting therapists, it means you do not have to compete with other therapists, you have better results, and can focus more on what you do best, helping others, rather than advertising.

The second reason we are exclusive is because we have a team in place that actively markets you, and we need time and energy for all of our therapists. You don't simply sign up for a listing on static software, you sign up for active marketing. Limiting therapists is an essential part of how we are able to do what we do.

We provide a marketing service not simply a static listing on a website. Our team spends time, all year round, individually and uniquely tailoring your marketing to your target areas. We call you and work with you, giving a human effort to help market you to the best of our abilities. Additionally, we have dependable, reliable support available to you to help with every step along the way.

Theravive is the only online marketing source we know of that guarantees paying clients. We are so confident in our ability to market therapists, that we already know up front that if you spend a year with us, you will receive a positive turn around, and if you don't, you stay with us free until you do. We do not believe in charging for a service that has no value, and we are extremely convicted about that. So how good are we? Only about 4 out of every 100 therapists who list with us ever claim a guarantee. That is a pretty good record! And those few therapists that do let us know they aren't getting benefit, we go out of our way to solve the issues that prevented referrals. Half of those 4% of therapists that claim guarantees end up satisfied, and stay with us.

What About Ethics? Isn't that unethical? Not at all. We never exchange clients for money, there is no "tit for tat" ever. We are only backing our service to you as your advertiser. Would you spend money to advertise with an agency that gave you no benefit? Who would. If you are going to pay for marketing with us, we will give you the reassurance you need to know that your marketing dollars will work for you. Theravive is unique among "therapist directories" in that you can list in many different cities. There really is no limit. Psychology Today, for example, gives you 2 addresses if you have 2 offices. Theravive is different. Even if you have one office, you can still list yourself in your home city, as well as other nearby towns and cities around you, within a reasonable distance from a prospective client. Searches for therapists in any of those cities will display you!

Another benefit is that therapists in nearby cities will NOT show up on your city page. Psychology Today will flood city pages with out of city therapists, making it more difficult for in-city therapists to attract clients. On Theravive, if you pay to list in Los Angeles, CA, you will not have any other therapists on your page unless they are specifically listed there as well. This is part of our exlusivity, it keeps referrals higher quality, and another way to keep competition between therapists extremely low. Therapists who buy multi-city packs to list in those "nearby areas" find rich amounts of referrals, free of other therapists being crammed into the pages.

In areas where we do not have any therapists or lack specializations, then we will certainly "pull" in therapists from nearby areas (see proximal listings below, another great benefit on Theravive), giving you many more potential listings.

And to make it even better, along with multiple cities, you can also have multiple addresses (this makes ZIP/Postal Code searches much better for you.) Ideal especially for clinics with more than one location. For every city you list in on Theravive, you are also allowed 1 physical address. So whether you have 5 physical locations and want 5 different city listings, or you have 1 physical address and still want 5 different city listings, Theravive can accommodate you.

Many people all over the US and Canada live in areas where therapists are too far away, or they simply want the convenience of therapy over Chat, Webcam (such as Skype and Messenger), Phone, or Email. In addition to your local city listings, if you want to market yourself to these clients, we have a special section specifically designed for e-counseling. All you do is check a few boxes, state what kinds of non face-to-face mediums you will accept (i.e. phone and email, but not webcam) in your control panel and just like that your listing for e-counseling will go live.

Some therapists on Theravive distinctly prefer e-counseling, and list in several cities around the country for the sole purpose of attracting remote clients. Theravive can accomodate both face-to-face therapists, and therapists who focus distance counseling.

Click our "Events" tab and see what this is all about. As a member of Theravive, you can publicly post your workshops, training, events, seminars, etc. You can attach brochures and re-direct clients to your event website. It is a great way to get the message out!

Do you have academic papers you have written? Do you have material you want to author? With over 1 million page views a month, Theravive is a great place to publish your academic works. While we do not offer any royalties, we can promise viewership. Publishing material on our site is also a great way to legitimize yourself in the eyes of a client. Any works you publish on our site get a special link in your bio, and you get a featured "Author" tag that stands out on your profile.

We offer a VIP membership for therapists and clinics who list in 4 or more cities. As a VIP member you get a free city of your choice, as well as preference for new features we implement. Special perks for VIP members are already in the works. But please note: ALL members, whether VIP or not, have the same status when it comees to their listings. Theravive does not implement a "Featured Listing" where select therapists always appear on the top of a page. This just doesn't seem fair to us to put therapists "ahead" of other therapists. At Theravive, all listings are randomized, so that everyone has equal time at the top placement.

Theravive is a fantastic value for all the benefits. We are not the cheapest, but also not the most expensive. However, if you ask us, and most of our therapists, we are the best. We do not offer monthly plans because we are not a static "directory". We are an active marketing service. As soon as you sign up, real people go to work to market you. Because of time and work we spend rendering services, we are unable to charge monthly rates. But we are confident you will be more than satisfied with the results.

This may be a tough one to explain, but for you advanced users, we will give it a shot. Lets say you are listed in Seattle, WA. Near to Seattle are several other cities and municipalities: Bellevue, Kirkland, Bothell, Redmond, and Renton for example. Now lets say someone searches our Renton page for a therapist. Unless we have a therapist specifically listed in Renton, you are "pulled" into that page from Seattle because you are nearby. But then say a therapist on Theravive lists themselves in Renton. You will no longer show up on the main Renton page. However, now lets say one of your specialties is "career counseling" and the therapist in Renton has not described themselves as having career counseling as a specialty. Now, you will be "pulled" into the Renton Career Counseling page.

What does all this mean? It means that you potentially can show up in many, many more areas than you are actually listed in, within a reasonable mile radius. We will always rather show a therapist's profile on a page then a "none found".

And whenever you show up in a proximal listing, you are always randomized, with equal top placement as everyone else. Psychology Today, and Network Therapy, the only other directories we know of that have any kind of proximal listing capability (there is none on GoodTherapy that we could find), they will always list out-of-city therapists beneath therapists specific to that city, so there is no chance of top placement in a multi-therapist city where your physical address is not an exact match. On Theravive, top placement in proximal listings is available to all therapists within reach.

Additionally, you will show up on ZIP/Postal searches by anyone who searches for a therapist by a ZIP when you are within their search radius.
