I am a Certified Trauma
Professional, and a member of the International Association of Trauma
hold a Masters of Professional Counseling and a Certificate of Advanced
Graduate Studies in Trauma, Abuse, and Deprivation Counseling from
Ottawa University in Phoenix.
I offer a hopeful, accepting
atmosphere for issues to be addressed and healed, keeping it light but effective.
I work in a multidimensional, holistic, and
respectful approach. Everyone matters and great things can be learned
from the most difficult of circumstances. I offer Christian Counseling
when requested. Overall an integration of the body, mind, and spirit
heals most effectively.
Together we will design a
treatment plan that outlines your needs and goals. It will be flexible
and complete. You will be heard, taken seriously, and informed throughout
your experience. To the best of my ability I will work with you to reach
these goals, though I cannot guarantee your desired outcome. Your
readiness enables the process to precede ahead. Just relax and take the
first step. You will not be alone.
I specialize in mood disorders,
trauma abuse and neglect, PTSD, childhood trauma, grieving/loss,
marriage/couples counseling, addictions, sexual abuse, gay/lesbian, and those
struggling with boundary/codependency issues. Training in Eye Movement
Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) enables my clients to work through
tougher issues in a controlled and gentle manner. I work with partners of sex addicts through training received with the Association for Partners of Sex Addicts Trauma Specialists (APSATS).
Counseling is the calling I am
best suited for. My clients seem to
agree saying they feel safe to reveal their deepest hurts and concerns. That is
a relationship I do not take lightly. It is such a privilege to see the
changes in people, humbling to be allowed to be a part of their improvement,
and amazing to witness their bravery. I
will not minimize your accomplishments. Counseling takes
courage. It is so worth the resulting freedom, the release from past
anger, fears, pain, shame, guilt, and ambivalence, in exchange for a hopeful future!
