"It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power." A. Cohen
I hold degrees from the universities of McGill, Carleton and Ottawa having specialized in Psychology and Counselling. I did practicum placements in the educational system and in a hospital environment where I focused on child and family issues.
For over 25 years I have been working with individuals and couples to help them work through their issues and problems so that they may achieve optimum health and well-being. For the first 15 of those years I was a member of a multidisciplinary team in a hospital setting as well as in a residential treatment center focused on the relationship between youth and their families in order to enhance their communication and behaviours. I then established my private practice working with individuals and couples as well as with addicted persons and their families. The people I work with present issues such as anxiety, depression, personal identity and growth, sexuality, aging, grief and bereavement.
My focus is always the "whole person": this reflects my philosophy both personally as well as professionally. This perspective leads to a greater understanding and enhanced physical, psychological, spiritual health, and general well-being.
