"Do you question the choices you have made or wonder why it is so difficult to do the things you want to do? Psychotherapy is a powerful, life changing experience addressing the repeating patterns of thinking and acting that prevent you from attaining your goals"

My approach to therapy is eclectic with a strong psychodynamic base for understanding the problems that bring people to seek help. In addition to psychology, my early training was as a dance/movement therapist and I continue to have an interest in the connection between mind, body and emotions and the nonverbal aspects of communication and relating.

In sessions, I work to listen deeply and create an accepting atmosphere. There, you can become curious about your thoughts, feelings and actions, explore how your past is influencing your life today and confront the repeating patterns of emotional reaction and behavior that get in the way of your finding satisfaction in your relationships and work.

I have over 25 years of experience as a psychotherapist in a wide variety of clinical settings and private practice. I have worked with children, adolescents and adults, giving me an appreciation of early experiences on adult adjustment, behavior and functioning. In my practice, I work with individuals with anxiety, depression, problems of adjustment to stages of life, work related stress, relationship problems, transitions and coping with the effects of early trauma. My experience in hospitals and clinics includes work with children, adolescents and adults with developmental disorders, acute and chronic emotional illness, individuals with seizures and epilepsy and individuals with a history of early trauma (child abuse).
