I was born and raised in the suburbs of Detroit.   I studied at The University of Michigan.  I moved to New York following graduation and began work for Macy's New York, both store-line and in the buyer's arena.  Following my stint with Macy's, I worked for Bloomingdale's, Gap, Coach, Eddie Bauer and finally, Disney.  It was The Mouse that did me in.  Although I enjoyed the fast pace of the industry, I found that I was more focused on the relationships of those around me than of the bottom-line.  And, as is the world of fashion and retail, the bottom-line wins and I was out.

Ego wounded, I decided to transfer my strengths into a fresh career and obtained my Master’s in Social Work from Fordham University.   Through the years, I have worked for a foster care agency in New York that assisted adolescents in the system prepare for life on their own.  I have immersed myself in the HIV/AIDS realm, assisting  men, women and children to address the psychosocial and medical challenges that affected them.  And I was part of the Project Liberty team that counseled those traumatized by the September 11th attacks here in New York.    I have had my own practice for the last 13 years or so.

I am a husband and a parent.  I know first-hand the demands that go into balancing marriage, parenthood, career and self.  For most of us, this can be the most challenging of balancing acts, simply because it will NEVER be perfect.  And if you are one of those people who strives for or are feel that you are being pressured to achieve perfection, then talk to me—I’ve been there.

I have been working on my private practice since the early 2000s.  I say “working on” because as I evolve and learn more about myself, my practice, by default, shifts gears as well.   Philosophies and tools that I pick up along the way and use to enhance my own life often find their way into sessions with my clients.

When you come to see me,  you will experience  a guy who is confident in his skills, who has lived a life that has not been all bubble gum, LOLs and puppies.  A guy who brings a sense to the sessions that you are being heard, understood, and helped.  I am an active partner.  I give feedback.  I ask questions.  I do not lose myself in taking notes as you speak.  You are coming here to get some help and you will have my undivided attention.

You are on this site because something is not feeling right.  You are the expert of you.  Trust your feeling/gut and find someone to speak and work with.  You deserve this.
