I have a variety of techniques and skills that I have acquired
from the University of Michigan and Wayne State University. I have further
enhanced my education and work experience with many advanced
trainings. I have trained across the country with many leading experts. For example, I was one of the first to become a certified Synergetc Play Therapist. I am also EMDR trained and use this approach with play.
My approaches are research backed, and brain based. They are most often an experience. Experiences form who
we are, and they are the quickest route to learning. Therefore, I will often have projects, tasks and offer the option of creative expression. I encourage insight-oriented discussion of thoughts, emotions and behavior. I work a great deal at
improving ones understanding of themselves, self-image and self-acceptance.
We will build problem solving, decision making, coping and communication
skills.
My personality
is warm and I am naturally playful in my approach, so making your therapy an experience is seamless for me. In addition, I keep respect
and confidentiality a priority.
