Everyone, at one time or another encounters challenging experiences, which can leave a lasting, negative effect. These challenging or traumatic experiences can leave wounds of shame that can hinder one from being their true, authentic self. I specialize in helping people overcome and heal these wounds which results in living a more free, authentic and assertive life. We will journey and collaborate together to help you achieve the goals you have for yourself. I work with teens, individuals, couples and families on a variety of areas.
Paul started his career in the field of human services in the late 1980’s helping people with developmental disabilities. Paul realized his gifts of listening, critical thinking, insight, encouragement and motivation would be best used in the counseling profession. After receiving his marriage and family therapist masters degree he enter the doctorate program of psychology at the Southern California Seminary. Paul finished his doctorate in 2011 and has been working as a psychological assistant at the Thomas Aquinas Psychological Clinic since 2012.
Paul applies his knowledge, training and experience in scientifically proven psychological techniques with his Christian values to maximize the help he can give to achieve his client's goals. Paul is familiar and competent in a variety of counseling theories, including Cognitive Behavioral, Psychoanalytical and EMDR. He draws on a variety of styles and techniques to address the specific needs of each individual.
