What a privilege to engage with folks as they struggle with the challenges and heartaches of life.  I consider it an honour to listen to their stories of pain, disillusionment and broken dreams. Although I am a Christian counsellor, I engage with individuals and couples from every walk of life and faith tradition.

I have been counselling for most of my life as a pastor (community counselling ministry), in social service settings, and currently in private practice.  I think of my clients as the heroes in the counselling process. I find them to be courageous, resourceful and resilient as they draw on their inner strength to take on the challenges set before them.

I believe that establishing a relationship based on trust, empathy and acceptance is fundamental to a positive counselling experience. We all long for safety, unconditional love, and intimacy.  Only in this environment are we free to be honest and vulnerable, to grow and to heal.
My wife and I have been married for almost 40 years.  We have four adult children, one daughter and three sons, and one son-in-law.  And, we have a grandson and a granddaughter.
