Are anxiety and stress controlling your life, limiting your daily activities, and causing you to have persistent anxious thoughts? I am here to help you and provide a safe space where together we focus on developing effective coping skills that can help you rise above depression, learn to control anxiety and stress, recover from trauma, and overcome perfectionism.

Have you recently moved to Canada and are you navigating the challenges of starting a new life in a new country? This journey can be both exciting and overwhelming. My experience as an immigrant has also helped me to connect and support other newcomers who might be struggling with their identity or who might be experiencing stress, anxiety, interpersonal issues, and depression due to migration and settlement. I provide services in both English and Farsi/Persian.

I am a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) and a Registered Counselling Therapist with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists (NSCCT). I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology (Honours) from Dalhousie University. I have experience working in the field of mental health at private practice, community-based organizations, and in both residential and outpatient treatment facilities.

I can provide a safe space where together we focus on skills that promote resiliency in the face of life’s challenges. My therapeutic approach is trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive. I am a strong advocate of person-centered approaches, with an emphasis on mindfulness and self-compassion. I use a strength-based approach and utilize modalities such Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), and Narrative Therapy, within counselling session to support, empower, and assist clients as they take steps in gaining mental clarity and enhancing their mental well-being.

At ClearMind Counselling Clinic which is a virtual mental health practice, I provide individual counselling services to adults who are 19 years old and above. You can book directly on the website for a free 15-minute consultation, during which you can ask questions, share your desired goals for counselling, and can examine if we can be a good fit in therapy together.

Please contact your provider to see if Registered Counselling Therapists (RCT) are part of your insurance plan, and to verify how you are compensated for counselling services.
