I help clients understand the triggers and patterns behind their anger and how it affects their thoughts, feelings, and relationships. Together, we practice strategies to manage intense emotions, including distress tolerance skills to stay grounded and interpersonal effectiveness skills to communicate needs assertively. My goal is to help clients respond to challenges with greater control, improve relationships, and develop healthy coping tools that support long-term emotional balance and self-awareness.

I am a Certified Anger Management Specialist and I offer individual anger management therapy. People seeking anger management training can expect the therapy to involve a minimum of 12 sessions, plus a session for an assessment interview. Length of training is dependent on the degree of preparation for sessions and commitment to practical application between sessions.

Anger often shows up when something important feels threatened respect, safety, fairness, or control. In anger counseling, I help you understand your anger’s purpose while building the skills to respond with more choice. Using ACT and CBT, we’ll work on noticing early body cues, slowing escalation, and unhooking from “fight” thoughts without stuffing feelings down. You’ll learn practical emotion regulation and communication tools, set boundaries more effectively, and take values-based action, even in heated moments, so anger becomes a signal you can use, not a force that drives your behavior.

Anger is one of the emotions that is often so misunderstood and seen as scary.
