Children need to be heard and understood. If not given a voice they will hold their thoughts and feelings in and then burst in temper tantrums and or act out. I work with children ages 5 and above. I work with understanding the parents' concern about the presenting issue/s. I get the child's voice into the therapy session to explore understanding for therapy and develop goals. After therapeutic needs assessments, and establishing goals. I utilize either CBT or Solution Focused Brief Therapy along with art or play therapy. I will include family sessions, as I belief that changes are not only needed in the individual client, but in the family system.

Play is an important part of growing up and learning, especially for children. Children may present with several behavioral difficulties that may have different presentations depending on the child's age and etiology of the difficulties. Environment tremendously precipitate these difficulties. In order to work with a child, parental involvement is highly recommended. We have approximately 10 years of experience working with children and families.

My approach to counseling children is supportive, engaging, and developmentally appropriate. I create a safe, nurturing space where children can express emotions, build coping skills, and develop self-awareness in ways that feel natural and age-appropriate. Sessions focus on emotional regulation, communication, and problem-solving, while supporting confidence and resilience. When appropriate, I collaborate with caregivers to provide guidance and strategies that reinforce progress outside of sessions, helping children feel understood, supported, and better equipped to navigate challenges at home, school, and in relationships.
