While I can offer a Christian perspective during our counseling sessions, let me be upfront in saying I am not a Biblical scholar. I do not have a degree in theology, and I am not a pastor. However, I have made the decision to follow the narrow path as best I can. I do accept Jesus Christ as my Lord. I am a member of a local church. For us, the work is more about truth and transparency of Christ's message and working on the natural laws of accountability and decision making that evolves from that. If one honors God's natural laws of reaping and sowing around the decisions one makes, one is indeed living Scripture to its fullest. Is a Christian Counseling perspective important to you in therapy? As an experienced Christian Counselor and ordained pastor, over the last 15 years I’ve been blessed to help hundreds of men find hope and healing using both psychological and Biblical principles. I believe that Christ is the ultimate source of hope and healing in this life. But I also believe that he’s given us the gift of rational minds, able to discern scientific and psychological truths built into the fabric of His amazing creation. My approach is grounded firmly in Scripture, but I don’t use Scripture as a weapon. You don’t need more guilt, but rather, a reminder of God’s promises and a compassionate guide to support you.

Our deepest wounds are often those that are at the hands of another person. Human brokenness is the root of our need for redemption. This holds true in therapy and growth work as well. When we encounter our deep wounds, we encounter our need for our Big God. Here, we are able to reconcile the broken our hurt parts of our ourselves. Dr. Vanes been a pastor's wife for 15 years and is trained in integrated counseling with Masters degrees in Theology, Clinical Psychology, and Intercultural Studies from Fuller Theological Seminary, and a Master's in Clinical Psychology: Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific Universality. Jace Draper is an LMFT with an MA from Azusa Pacific.

As a certified pastoral counselor with sixteen years of experience, I meet the client where they are and integrate scripture and psychology as desired and appropriate for the client. Having earned a Master of Divinity degree and a master's degree in counseling and psychology I have a foundation for Christian counseling that the majority of other Christian therapists do not. I have also taught and supervised students in offering Christian counseling in multiple institutions while also serving as a pastor with specific responsibilities in the areas of pastoral care and counseling.
