Psychotherapy is a focused, Interactive process, and which we work together to find solutions to your specific needs and problems. Sometimes we focus on dysfunctional thoughts ("Stinkin' Thinkin'), sometimes on destructive emotions, sometimes in the past, but most often in the present. I tend to be very active in the therapy process, and often give "homework" assignments. It is important that we establish clearly defined goals for therapy at the outset, so that we realize when those goals have been reached.

With a Master’s degree in counseling, I’m trained to treat a wide variety of common mental health issues like anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, grief, and relationship issues. My psychotherapy approach will depend on the person, their problem and the situation. I prefer solution focused and cognitive behavior approaches, they are easy, brief and allow us to move forward while learning life long techniques. We can change our behavior and most outcomes by becoming aware of what works and most importantly what hasn't it in the past. Together we can identify patterns and create long lasting change.
