In family therapy it is my goal to understand how each person in the family unit approaches life, relationships, and each other. Together, we examine communication styles, heal past wounds, and provide a safe place where everyone in the the family unit can be heard and understood. All families have a level of dysfunction, it is the goal of family therapy to help the family learn to function in more loving and positive ways.

Families become enmeshed in their habit relationships. Although it is easy to focus on the problems one person may be having, that person is part of the family, and affects the entire family. Moreover, the family affect that person - leading to a cycle that can end up spiraling out of control. By becoming part of the family system during family sessions, I help the family identify problem patterns that arise, break those patterns, and institute new healthy interpersonal relationships. The result is that individual members of the family are happier, and the family as a system if healthier - allowing each family member to flourish.
