Do you feel disconnected from your partner? Are you tired of all the arguing? Whatever your concerns are, I have experience working with couples to improve relationship dynamics in a nonjudgmental and encouraging therapeutic environment. My goal is to help couples manage through trying periods and to develop effective ways to improve communication and interactions. I will work closely with your partner and you to help reonnect you to the relationship that you were always wishing for.

Couples work is challenging but I enjoy it. I like to help people improve how they relate to each other; communicate better; work through conflicts; and connect on a deeper level. I'm also very non-judgmental and help couples work through complicated issues they sometimes have a hard time finding a therapist for such as exploring sexual boundaries or non-traditional relationship issues. Unfortunately - sometimes it's also about ending a relationship and using the therapist to help navigate a "friendly divorce" rather than an acrimonious one.

Home Psych Services, P.C. offers couples counseling and specializes in providing couples counseling over telehealth. This brings the counseling into your home which is where the problems originated. We use an evidence based approach and take the time to help our clients work toward solutions. We promise to be non-judgmental, compassionate, and responsive to your needs.

I recognize that each couple is unique, in their approach to life and to each other. I would focus on their strengths, especially as work on their problematic areas began. I encourage open communication but discourage name calling; I also encourage the use of "I feel" statements. I would be interested in their individual life histories in that the baggage we bring to relationships cannot be removed, but responses to behavior can be altered. And sometimes awareness of why an individual acts and/or feels a certain way can be quite helpful.

I approach couples counseling primarily as a facilitator of healthy and mutually respectful communication. This has often broken down at home so creating a safe place for both people to speak and listen to each other is a lost experience I work on recovering. In turn, there may then be a sense of relief and hope that both people are able to calm down and problem solve their situation.

Communication, trust, and vulnerability are essential parts of a relationship. However, sometimes priorities and values get misaligned and couples find themselves growing apart instead of together. Our approach is realigning the relationship dynamics and restoring healthy and effective communication patterns to support vulnerable spaces and trust. In doing so, you may step into a healthy space with your partner. However, this change can only occur with vulnerability, respect, trust, and willingness to change.
