Home Psych Services, P.C. provides home-based family therapy. We believe this is the most effective way to treat family problems by impacting these family problems where they usually start - in the home. We have multiple professionals including social workers, psychologists, and psychiatrists that are able to address family problems from multiple different viewpoints. We are in the unique position of being able to observe how family problems play out in session in the actual environment where these problems started in the first place. This puts us in a unique position to diagnose and treat family problems.

Family therapy needs to be engaging for it to be helpful. It can be daunting, with some family members not feeling safe enough to say what they truly feel. Each family member deserves to be understood, and to be a part of something special. The family therapist needs to connect with each member of the family. Encouraging humor, creativity, and stretching comfort levels are all part of the process.

In family therapy I treat the dynamic of the relationship between family members. We all have a deep need to belong and feel accepted by others. This starts in our family of origin. If things are preventing us from feeling accepted by our families we seek other places to feel that connection. By helping each person feel heard, understood and accepted by their family members we can create significant change.

My goal in working with couples and families is to restore hope and a love to battered relationships. I believe in using a mix of practical assessment skills, creativity and humor with a genuine commitment to marriage and families. In addition, I lovingly challenge individuals to look at themselves and identify what is holding them back from fully loving each other. I offer dynamic and powerful trainings and assessments that will propel families and couples forward more quickly. My heart is to help couples and parents once again experience grace to see their loved ones the way God does.

Families can find themselves in a rut with communication issues. Mr. Edleman likes to bring those issues to light and help everyone get a better understanding of how each other is feeling. Mr. Edleman also helps provide the tools you never knew you had to be better at communicating. He also provides unique treatment planning for the whole family.
