I use a combination of solution focused and strategic family therapy to identify the wants and needs of the family and help members to work towards agreed upon common goals. I try to divide my time making sure every family member is heard and can have their individual needs met and also discussing as a family what is best for them as a whole.

Most family therapists inadvertently create more chaos through their well-intentioned efforts to assist a family move through a change process. Why? Brains are inherently deregulated (all of us, may I add) and most talking and dialoguing misses brain-centric problems that need more intensive help.
