The cultural community in Wichita is alive and well, providing different ways in which kids and adults can experience culture. Some of these things include the Music Theatre of Wichita, the Wichita Symphony Orchestra, the Orpheum Theatre, and the Wichita Art Museum, to name a few. There are also several smaller art museums in and around the city for all to enjoy. On the last Friday of each month, the galleries have a free tour attraction, where visitors can visit different art museums. Among the many agencies providing comprehensive mental health services to families in Wichita is the Mental Health Association of South Central Kansas (MHASCK). The guiding principle of the organization is that mental illness is not something that happens to someone else, but rather, is something that is experienced on a large scale by many individuals and their families. To address the unique needs of families, the MHASCK offers children's support groups, peer support for adults and elder abuse prevention, as well as community outreach programs and classes to educate the public about mental illnesses.
