I look at the entire family system and each person's role in the family. Then we work together to make changes and resolve issues. Family therapy creates an atmosphere where each member can feel safe expressing their feelings and concerns surrounding the presenting issue. There are many reasons a family may decide to start family therapy; such as major life transitions (marriage, divorce, relocation, death of a loved one), abuse, serious illness in family, trauma (car accident, fire, natural disaster), sibling conflict, and parent-child conflict.
