Miles Diller is a psychologist with over thirty years of experience with children, adolescents and adults, providing therapy, testing and diagnostic services for ADHD, learning, and other behavioral, emotional and social problems. He is certified in Gestalt, has trained and conducted research in cognitive behavioral therapy, and has experience in acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT); he uses all of these approaches to help alleviate anxiety, depression, stress, and phase of life issues.

When I attempt to be of help to a client I bring to the table all the knowledge and skill I have acquired in earning a Ph.D. in psychology and many hours of additional formal training. However, this is only the beginning. I also bring to the table everything I have learned in many years of relating to people as therapist, friend, family member, group member, and psychotherapy client. What I know about my own humanity is more important that all of my formal training.

I work collaboratively with individuals to set goals and articulate areas of growth. I use cognitive and psychodynamic approaches to help you to: Understand and process the sources of distress, and Develop coping styles and behaviors to better manage that distress. Some issues benefit not only from talk therapy but also medication. I may recommend this combined approach of both psychotherapy and medication to help lessen distress. I have working relationships with area psychiatrists making this combined approach easier for the patient.

I am always studying the latest information on healing trauma and relationship problems. My clients over the years have also taught me a lot. I am a good listener and will commit myself fully to our work together. I will be present with you and bring a wonderful tool box to my work! My greatest satisfaction is to see people becoming more fulfilled, feeling good about their lives, happier!

Through my educational and practical experience, I have adopted an eclectic approach to therapy. First in foremost, I believe in getting to know each client as an individual. Once a working relationship is established, I work to help clients understand themselves. That involves seeing oneself more objectively and evaluating one's behaviors and their consequences more clearly. In this way, it's possible to determine what's working, what needs to be changed, and how changes could be put into place. The process is different for every person but it always is a great privilege to meet you, learn about you, and help you on your journey to lead a more satisfying life.
