Being a Christian certainly does not keep us from experiencing hard times, emotional struggles, illnesses, or relationship pain. My goal is to help you navigate whatever challenges you may be experiencing, either individually or as a couple, in a way that strengthens your faith and reminds you of the purpose God has for your life. While it can be incredibly hard to walk as a Christian in the world today, it is my belief that God will make a way.

God has given us direction on how to live a life of love, joy and peace. The Bible contains nuggets of truth which lead to a wholeness that is a balm to the pain and struggles of life. Hope is offered in a counseling relationship which God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit are present in the process of healing. My educational background is in both Bible and Biblical Psychology so I am well prepared to integrate emotional and spiritual direction and growth. I am a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and an attendee and Bible Study teacher at Woodside Bible Church in Troy, MI.

We have several therapists who offer Christian Counseling, as well as many who particularly work with each client's individual religious/spiritual perspective. All of our therapists honor and respect spiritual and religious values, principles and beliefs as part of the whole person and relevant to a client's treatment. All counselors bring their own values and beliefs to the counseling process. Counseling from a Christian perspective allows me to counsel a whole person--including the spiritual aspect. While I do not impose my beliefs on my clients, I do not apologize for them either. The benefit for those who seek Christian counseling is that they may experience not only symptom reduction but also transformation as they clarify and define their approach to life's problems with a redemptive perspective and purpose.

As a born again follower of Jesus Christ, I believe that the Bible has the answers to life's difficulties. Scripture and biblical principles can and should be applied to all areas of life. Although being a Christian does not guarantee that we won't struggle, it does guarantee that we won't struggle alone. Even those who are not Christians can benefit from scriptural teachings.
