Family systems can be complex. Each person brings with them a different set of ideas, personalities, and obstacles. My goal in working with families is to help you identify barriers that are preventing your family from thriving. We will work together to understand each member of the family and how to better communicate with each other.

We are all travelers on a journey called Life. Sometimes we stumble or feel lost when we encounter obstacles and crossroads along the way. Each person has the opportunity to seek a path toward happiness, but many of us carry baggage that becomes excessively burdensome. Baggage can manifest in many guises including: hand-me-down core beliefs, destructive lifestyle patterns, poor communication, dysfunctional relationships, unhealthy habits and coping strategies.

Parenting is a challenging and rewarding role. Unfortunately no one teaches us how to parent. Most people tend to do what their parents did or in some cases the exact opposite. When that doesn't work they can be at a loss. If you are struggling with parenting I can help. My approach in Family Therapy focuses on helping the parent(s) learn new parenting techniques by understanding their child's developmental stage and needs, setting and following through with limit setting and strengthening the connection with the child.

Family counseling, or family therapy, aims to address psychological, behavioral, and emotional issues that cause family problems. Family members will work with a therapist or counselor to develop and maintain a healthy family dynamic. We will develop a treatment plan specific for your family, helping everyone to feel emotionally safe, while boundaries are respected, and that everyone understands their role in the family unit.
