While I think antidepressant medication has its place, I'm not a big pill pusher. I believe it's important to take the time to understand where the depression is coming from. A lot of times when we are depressed, we are angry and don't even realize it. Often, we are angry with ourselves on a deep level that we're not even aware of. Other times, we are angry at the way we are being treated by other people and don't feel strong enough to stick up for ourselves. Often depression is related to unresolved issues from childhood that have impaired our self-concepts and give us a sense of powerlessness. I will work with you to understand what's going on inside and in your relationships with others.

You are not alone if you suffer from depression. Depression can affect your quality of life, and become disabling. There is help available if you are willing to reach out. I will work alongside you and listen with compassion and empathy. I provide a safe, non-judgemental, and confidential environment where you may openly talk.
