I have extensive experience working with depression, from mild forms to severe, cripplling depression. Sometimes depression can seem like the world around you has changed, leaving you isolated and feeling all alone. At times some may feel unable to go on with their daily life. I help you identify the root causes of depression and can provide strategies to move through and onwards with life.

Client will become more aware of thoughts causing his/her depressive feelings. Client will be able to manage his/her emotions with mindfulness activities and learn other coping skills to help decrease depressive feelings. Together we will process and explore the reasons and triggers for the depressive symptoms. Often times, clients will feel more empowered with my approach of giving clients the control to their own mental health journey.

As a postdoctoral psychology resident, I am highly trained, and strive to create a safe and supportive environment. Depression is often controlled by our unconscious feelings, thoughts, memories, and dreams. Drawing on Positive Psychology and other therapeutic models, I help clients to understand how we relive early experiences unconsciously, and I coach them on behavioral techniques they can use to overcome the vicious cycle of negativity and change their present. These include a blend of empirically based techniques clients can use at work or at home to overcome depression, end self-sabotage, and get unstuck.

I have compassion for couples who come in when one or both are struggling with an overall lack of satisfaction and motivation. I help couples identify those “triggers” that affect their relationship and cause low mood, and to develop coping skills to self-regulate. My couples' clients report that they are able to sense and identify relationship mood fluctuations as a result of our therapy sessions. I also refer them to individual therapy providers so they can get support outside of our couples' sessions.
