As a school based counselor in Wayne and Monroe counties, for many years I had the opportunity to counsel young children, adolescents and teens individually and in a group setting. At the high school level I have taught a class in several high schools called "Reconnecting Youth." This class addressed academics, drug use and social skills. In a high school setting students were seen for counseling to address concerns of self esteem, anger, drug use, bullying and various other issues and concerns.
