Well, sometimes we do our best based on what we know and there are things in the way that cause conflict, create negative relational patterns, or even events that change the dynamics of how we relate. My 40 years of experience allows me to deal with a large variety of family related issues: step family, living together, dating, marriage, family of origin, gay couples, seniors parent/child issues. I was trained in Family Therapy and wrote a book to help people deal with family related problems. As a family therapist, I look at the larger picture and see how it is impacting the person's current situation. From there I help the person custom design a solution that is unique to them and takes into account how others in their family system will react to the changes they are attempting.
