Helpline Center is a Sioux Falls non-profit agency dedicated to supporting individuals that have lost a loved one to suicide. In addition to information and resources about the healing process, Helpline Center offers various classes and support groups to provide people with the social and emotional support they need to heal. A nine-week long support class is designed to help individuals identify and express their feelings and cope with sadness and anger. To achieve this mission, the organization offers a peer support program in which disabled individuals gain insight from other disabled individuals that have had positive experiences living independently. Consumers learn how to cope effectively with their disability, learn to advocate for themselves, and develop an understanding of community resources that help them in their pursuit of self-sufficiency. Peer groups meet once a month to learn new skills, engage in recreational activities, and share in one another's successes. Current Initiatives

The City of Sioux Falls Homeless Outreach program seeks to connect individuals that have no permanent residence to much needed social and healthcare programs. Outreach clinics throughout the city improve access for poverty-stricken residents to the care that they need. Various services are offered, including treatment for addictions and dependency. Case management services ensure that continued care is provided in a coordinated fashion in order to meet each person's unique needs.
