Consumers learn how to cope effectively with their disability, learn to advocate for themselves, and develop an understanding of community resources that help them in their pursuit of self-sufficiency. Peer groups meet once a month to learn new skills, engage in recreational activities, and share in one another's successes. The City of Sioux Falls Homeless Outreach program seeks to connect individuals that have no permanent residence to much needed social and healthcare programs.
