I work with children and their parents to develop the skills to navigate many behavioral and learning challenges. My approach is based on skill building using the parent(s) as the "coach". I believe that you know your child best and that we can work together on a unique plan that meets your child's needs while respecting your goals and beliefs as a parent.

Is your teen struggling? Are they having trouble thriving in school, at home, or in their relationships? Do they need someone outside the family they can talk to? I’m Tim, and I help young people navigate the complex world of being a teenager. With me, young people can expect therapy grounded in respect, encouragement, humor, as well as evidence-based techniques. Whether it be anxiety, relationships, anger, or family issues, I work with teens to find out the root causes of their mental health challenges, provide a trusting and empathic ear, and find solutions that work for them and their family. ***Please note *** I only work with teens ages 15 and older.

Children experience grief/trauma. Getting clinical support for them sooner than later helps to mitigate the lasting effects these life events can have on them. Kids grieve and experience trauma differently from us adults - rather than being 24/7 in their pain, children flow in and out of their grief - they will feel their sadness for a time and then you will see them playing in the backyard as though nothing had ever happened. This is normal. Kids will sometimes believe the grief/trauma was their fault; or they worry about who will take care of them if something happens to their surviving primary caregiver. Working with kids requires patience, ingenuity, and a gentle spirit.
