The Lubbock chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness seeks to provide help to people with poor mental health. Peer-to-peer support groups offer individuals a safe place in which they can share their experiences and be encouraged by others who have been through similar experiences. Contact Lubbock is a non-profit agency dedicated to eradicating suicide. Taking a prevention approach, Contact Lubbock offers an educational program called Choices, which teaches youth and adults how to recognize warning signs, how to seek help, and how to provide help to someone who is contemplating taking their own life.
