My goal for couples is to help them learn how to create a better marriage using the wisdom an d principles found in God's word. I help couples create a dependency on Jesus in their marriage, develop new emotional intimacy, and effectively communicate their needs to their spouse. I believe if I can help each spouse to grow to become their best self and stand on their own two feet that their marriage together will thrive.

I work with married couples, as well as other couples in long-term relationships. In some cases, divorce, or the threat of divorce, is in the air. Sometimes, the same arguments come up over and over again, and never get resolved. Living with another person has many benefits, but it also often means there will be disagreements between the two of you. After all, you are two different people! Couples counseling can work wonders toward resolving some of those issues, while also teaching you how to thrive in spite of the issues that can't be fully resolved.

Believing that marriage is the building block of families and society, we are strong advocates for healthy marriages. While many are content to help couples survive marriage, we want marriages to thrive. We have experience in helping couples to improve communication, recover from infidelity, reconnect sexually, develop solid co-parenting skills, and build intimacy on several levels - not the least of which is the spiritual health of the marriage. We help couples work within their personalities and strengths to build a strong marriage.

Couples come to counseling because they are at an impasse--either they argue too much or they have stopped talking altogether. Maybe the intimacy is gone. Reconnecting is possible once the source of the conflict is resolved. Being flexible, respecftul, forgiving, and truly "hearing" your partner are key traits needed to resolve issues damaging your relationship.

Let me guess. One partner feels alone and like they don't matter and the other feels they are always being criticized and can't get anything right. The more one asks for the other to show up, the more the partner disappears physically and emotionally. You both bicker and fight and the idea of sitting and just hanging out seems elusive, if not impossible. Something like this? Often we crave connection but are blocked by the pain and the history that gets in the way. Small fights about little things become battles that highlight our struggle to have our basic relational needs met. Couples counseling is similar to marriage counseling except the two people are not married. Sometimes this is premarital counseling. Sometimes it's with couples who are in a committed relationship, but are not married. Sometimes it's with couples who are divorced and are considering remarriage.
