My goal is to help you communicate more effectively, become emotionally intimate, and connect with each other in honoring way. Often we crave connection but are blocked by the pain and the history that gets in the way. Small fights about little things become battles that highlight our struggle to have our basic relational needs met. My goal for couples is to help them learn how to create a better marriage using the wisdom an d principles found in God's word. I help couples create a dependency on Jesus in their marriage, develop new emotional intimacy, and effectively communicate their needs to their spouse. I believe if I can help each spouse to grow to become their best self and stand on their own two feet that their marriage together will thrive.

Through effective communication strategies and conflict resolution techniques, I guide couples in addressing issues and enhancing emotional connection. My goal is to help partners rediscover shared goals, improve mutual understanding, and cultivate a healthier and more fulfilling partnership.

In couples counseling, my approach is rooted in fostering open communication, understanding, and collaboration between partners. Couples' therapy aims to help couples recognize conflicts, resolve conflicts, and improve their relationships. Through couples' therapy, you can make thoughtful decisions about rebuilding your relationship or going your separate ways. I am trained in several evidence-based couples' therapy models. I help couples understand underlying issues in their relationship, explore how their past has shaped their present behavior, and gain a better understanding of each other’s emotions.

There are countless models of healthy romantic relationships, from monogamous to polyamorous, and unique variations between partners. The scripts for dating and longterm relationships of our parents’ generations may not be applicable to your relationship, and there is no formal education in how to be a good partner or how to identify unhealthy relationships. But there is psychological research that shows that effective communication, emotional openness, intimacy, and other factors contribute to healthy relationships. Creating these conditions are skills that can be learned. I practice brief humanistic and emotion-focused therapy (EFT) to help my LGBTQ and hetero clients learn these skills.

Couples work is all about connecting to one another to build felt safety and attunement. We utilize the best of the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) in order to cut to the root of the problem, which is always about trust and communication. It is a highly effective process that yields consistent results. If your relationship is stuck in negative cycles, both of you feel unsafe and are never able to fully open up to one another. We work together to identify core emotions and reconnect in a safe way to get your relationship back to health.
