Family therapy looks at the entire family system—parents, children, extended family members—to identify strengths and problematic behaviours. I collaborate with families on strategies for utilizing their own capabilities for resolving problems, and on developing effective communication and problem-solving skills for preventing conflicts. I specialize in working with families of teenagers, which is an age that can be challenging for both the teenagers and their parents.

Regardless of the family structure, all families must work at building positive relationships among its members. At times, this can be a challenging task. At Christ Centered Counseling we strive to help family members to restore peace, harmony, and unity. We teach and encourage each member of the family to take responsibility for his or her behavior and to be accountable to each other for the well being of the family unit. I believe God created us for relationship and that good relationships take effort. I incorporate listening skills, attachment styles, relational skills, and biblical principles into my family therapy. I believe that it is necessary for us to make the relationship more important than any issue we may have with a person. Forgiveness is key and possible when we choose to let Jesus heal the wound.
