Having worked in many healthcare settings, I am familiar navigating life-changing events and grief. I understand the territory of encountering loss, coping with trauma, the complexity of the medical system and living with illness. There is a spectrum of substance use. Not all use is addiction. It doesn't always end in "jail, institutions, or death." Our goal is to help you figure out how drugs or alcohol have impacted you and your life. Then we will individualize a treatment plan for you. This may include a combination of individual, family, or group therapy and drug/alcohol testing. It may even include a program of harm reduction called alcohol moderation. Mutual support groups do not work for everyone so we do not require them. Don't let a bad experience with a rigid program stop you from getting help.
