My Approach to Helping
Life can present you with difficult situations which are hard to process and move past. These challenges are not on your timeline and affect everything. Having worked in many healthcare settings, I am familiar navigating life-changing events and grief. I understand the territory of encountering loss, coping with trauma, the complexity of the medical system and living with illness. Together we will face any changes, fears, anxiety and emotions you are experiencing, allowing you to gain more grounding and peace. I am certified in integrative medicine; I will work with you from a holistic approach to determine together what is needed for your coping, healing and self-care.
Specific Issues I am Skilled at Supporting
Whether something difficult is happening to you now or has happened in the past, it is easy for it to impact many aspects of your life. Sometimes you do not see how much the loss or pain is affecting you until something occurs you cannot ignore. I specialize in living with illness and/or caregiving, experiencing grief, navigating relationships, dealing with anxiety and coping with unhealed past traumas.
These events can have ripple effects on your relationships, sense of self and perceptions of the world. I work with individuals and their partners as they encounter chronic and acute issues, providing psychological interventions toward improved coping and quality of life.  I know how complex life and relating to others can get, and I will support you as you find healing and clarity.
How Psychotherapy Can Help
Often when things are difficult even your best-intentioned loved ones can struggle to support you fully. Usually, in order to move forward with a new perspective and understanding, you need someone unbiased to help untangle the many layers.  Outside support provides you with the objectivity and security you need to process and fully express yourself. Your psychological safety and well-being are my foremost concerns. I provide a warm, nonjudgmental presence where you can speak freely about what is occurring in your life. Together, outlining patterns and changes, we will pave a way forward.
