Students in the Racine Unified School District that demonstrate exceptional academic abilities can be enrolled in the district's gifted and talented program, which provides increased rigor and academic opportunities from elementary school through high school. All district students are screened for giftedness during their kindergarten year. Students that meet the program's criteria are monitored and an educational plan is conceived to ensure that students are provided the opportunity to nurture their intellectual gift, whatever it may be.
