"Deep Breath, Wide Mind, Open Heart."

Are you:
  • Feeling blocked from living your best life?
  • Finding it tough to get over past experiences?
  • Feeling stressed, anxious, sad, or burnt out?
  • Dealing with the loss of someone or something important to you?
  • Going through a transition in life, love, or work?

We all go through tough times. My job is to support your healing and renewal when you have been stunned, wounded, or overwhelmed. In addition to using evidenced-based treatments like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness, I believe I can best support you with encouragement, by building on your strengths, and by sharing skills and perspectives. I want to get you back to feeling like the "real you," feeling at peace, connected, and inspired.

Specialties and Training
My clinical focus includes trauma, grief & loss, and stress management, as well as relationships, career, and personal development. I have provided individual / crisis / career counselling services and have facilitated psychoeducational / process groups in higher-education settings. I have worked with people in high-stress roles like first responders, medical residents, and students. I am trained in trauma counselling, DBT, CBT, Critical Incident Stress Management, and group psychotherapy. In addition to being a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC), I am endorsed by the BC Professional Firefighters Association. I also have a professional background in historical and litigation research in the area of genocide and transgenerational trauma.

I have a decade of experience using mindfulness, meditation, and movement to cope with anxiety and depression, raise mood, and enhance self-awareness. My graduate research investigated the skill of being mindfully detached from difficult experiences in a healthy way. I am a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) with training in trauma-informed yoga. My core values as a therapist are exemplified in my efforts to support and collaborate with you as you heal, gather strength, and discover solutions. My hope is to empower you to find peace, renewal, and balance in your life.

Who I Work With
I work with Experience Seekers in Service of Others. That means I work with First Responders, Medical Professionals, Athletes, Creatives, and anyone else who finds themselves living deeply and in connection with others. These roles can bring fulfillment and joy, but they can also cause personal pain, like anxiety, depression, burnout, difficult emotions, and relationship problems.

You Are Not Alone
Life can be amazingly complicated, challenging, and unpredictable. I believe that people helping others survive and thrive gives life its meaning. I am grateful to those who have helped me through turbulent periods in my life and I am privileged to offer help to others in my professional role as a counsellor and psychotherapist. If you are hurting, overwhelmed, feeling stuck, or simply interested in doing some self-exploration, I encourage you to reach out to a mental health professional you feel you could connect with. If you think I may be that person, I invite you to get in touch.
