Canton Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) is located in Massillon, Ohio and is a leading outpatient treatment center providing medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid addiction. We serve adults age 18 and older of all genders who are struggling with opioid addiction. The Canton CTC medication-assisted treatment program integrates FDA-approved medications with evidence-based therapies to create an individualized treatment plan for each patient we serve.

Both the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) recommend MAT. The use of prescribed medications reduces the severity of opioid withdrawal symptoms and decreases the likelihood of relapse. By decreasing relapse rates, MAT also reduces the number of fatal opioid overdoses. Some opioid addiction clinics are only certified to administer methadone. However, methadone is not effective for everyone, and the drug poses a health risk for some people.

At Canton CTC, we are authorized to prescribe methadone, buprenorphine, and Suboxone. By prescribing the most appropriate medication for each patient, we offer a more positive and supportive recovery experience. The efficient admissions process at Canton CTC is designed to be thorough without delaying crucial treatment. Patients should expect to complete both mental and physical health evaluations, including medical history and addiction treatment history reports. Some diagnostic tests may be required before treatment begins. Once we have a full understanding of your background and presenting symptoms, we can create a treatment plan that addresses your specific needs. Prescribed medications are an important part of our opioid addiction treatment program, but our team strives to empower each patient as a whole person whose emotional and behavioral health is also valuable.

Participation in individual and group therapy is a vital part of our program. MAT is not a one-size-fits-all treatment program. Our experienced staff understands that different medications work differently from person to person. Certain types of counseling services are also more effective for some people than for others. With collaboration and careful monitoring, we develop a treatment plan that meets each patient’s individual needs.

At Canton CTC, we understand that recovery from opioid addiction is a multistep process. We strive to help each patient through those steps with the support of medical, emotional, and psychological care that is appropriate to their situation. Medication-assisted treatment makes recovery from opioid addiction a realistic goal for patients who may have previously given up on the hope of living life free of opioids.
