I genuinely love my job and I believe this translates into the work I do with my clients. I have worked to create a welcoming, safe, and comfortable environment in my office where my clients will feel well-cared-for and know that they are important to me. I consider it an honor to be entrusted with my role as their therapist, to hear their story, and to provide the assistance needed for growth.

My specialty is marriage and relationship counseling. More than half of my practice is with couples. We work on issues including communication, trust, friendship, parenting, addictions, and infidelity. My approach is based in attachment theory, so we look at history and how life experiences affect our current relationships. We work through obstacles that challenge the relationship, learn new ways of connecting on an honest level, and ultimately build a stronger friendship and increase passion.

I also work with many individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, and other areas of personal growth. I work with women of various ages to find their voices, identify their strengths, and conquer their fears. I also work with men of various ages to overcome challenges, learn to tap into their feelings, and engage in their lives in a way that is meaningful for them. My clients seem to feel at-ease with me, and I often hear that they are comfortable with me because I am a “real person” and not intimidating as they had feared.

Because I am a Christian, many of my clients choose to work with me to integrate their faith into the therapeutic process of change. With this added resource of their spirituality, we take an approach to growth that encompasses body, mind, and spirit. We incorporate cognitive-behavioral therapy to examine the negative beliefs that get in the way of a joyful life and consider whether or not those thoughts are congruent with their faith. By embracing truth instead of the lies we may believe, we can rest in our Creator’s love and purpose for our lives.

Whatever your needs are, I am optimistic! I am a “glass-half-full” person, and I will believe for you, hope for you, and dream for you while you find that light at the end of your tunnel or silver lining in your cloud. It’s why I’m here and what I “signed up for.” All you have to do is ask.
