I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who is passionate about helping others reach their potential, teach skills or offer insight that comes from training at Ashland Theological Seminary's Master of Arts Clinical Counseling program.  As a mom who has experienced divorce, singleness and remarriage I'm intimately connected with the pain and joy that comes through suffering and ultimately growth.  I consider it an honor to walk with people in the process of finding hope, healing, or direction.  I also work with parents who understand that it's their job to guide their children and are willing to work to become the best version of themselves.

Life can offer many transitions and I also guide people through experiences like depression, anxiety, grief, or stress that is brought on by many of life's trials.  I believe that people who persevere and come out on the other side of these negative emotions grow to have character that is enriching to them and those around them.

I use Gottman Method Couples Therapy for work with all couple types and have completed Level 3 training.  I find the principles in Gottman’s Method to be sound and effective in healing relationships where communication and conflict resolution are the primary concern.  I am also also Prepare/Enrich Certified for PreMarital, Marriage & Parenting assessment facilitation.  I especially enjoy working with engaged couples who are eager to prepare for a lifetime of marriage.  I use both modalities to bring couples closer and can also facilitate more team work as a couple and as parents.  Whether you are planning a marriage or need a check up after years of marriage I can provide you with insight and direction to the marriage of your dreams.

I also provide counseling services for:
Marriage, Blended Families, Thriving through Divorce, Life Transitions, Parenting, Grief/Loss, Depression, Anxiety, Coping Skills, Anger Management, Women’s Issues, and Communication Issues.

Personal Information:
I work part time at CornerStone Family Services so I can work harder at being a full time wife and mother to my family.  I consider it an honor to meet the needs of my husband and children and working around everyone’s schedule is a special challenge in a blended family!  When I find free time I enjoy reading books for growth and for entertainment, working out is a priority for my sanity and health and someday I hope to finish those scrapbooks I started before grad school!  I am also involved in leading a Lifegroup and serving on the Connections team with my husband at my church.

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.  ~James 1:12
