Hello and welcome! My name is Catherine, and I'm going to share a bit about myself! I have  a Master of Social Work degree and have completed certificates in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy, Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy, Bereavement,  Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Trauma therapy. I'm also trained in various other therapeutic approaches that influence the way I provide therapy. These frameworks and approaches are rooted in evidence based studies that have proven to be effective!

I use a non-pathologizing, attachment-based lens with all of my clients and incorporate mindfulness-based practices into my work. I believe our relationship creates the foundation for emotional safety and security. Having a space where you don't feel judged, where your story is honoured and respected is an integral part of our relationship.

I have been practicing psychotherapy for over a decade and have experience meeting individuals and couples with experiences of anxiety-related issues, depression, past trauma, grief and loss, self-esteem related issues, and relationship distress. Together, we will identify the root causes of what is causing you distress, and work towards finding new ways to approach your problem(s) so that you can in turn, become your own therapist when stressors continue to crop up in your life.

My work in the counselling role is fueled by a passion for collaborative relationships with people where clients feel safe, seen, and deeply understood. I believe healing begins in the context of connection. To this end, I feel blessed to help people access and make sense of their emotional world and create new patterns of connection both within, and with others.I walk alongside those I work with, helping them to discover their own resilience, and to nurture the possibility of hope and change. I believe strongly in the dignity and worth of all people, and this approach creates space for people to be able to openly talk, and reflect in a safe and trusting place, free of judgment.

I am a mother of two teenagers, and a Goldendoodle named Nala. I am a cancer survivor and passionate about empowering individuals in their efforts to cope with adversity. I love reading, socializing with friends, and doing various activities outside, such as hiking, and kayaking.

I invite you to connect with me and if so I look forward to speaking with you, and carving out a path forward.
