Throughout my 20+ years of professional experience in the human services profession, I have been driven by a passion for helping others that I now bring to Clinical Counselling. It is rewarding to support adults, youth and families to overcome distressing, overwhelming, or traumatic life events. It is an honour to help individuals realize their strengths and resilient qualities. In my therapeutic practice, I will guide you with care and compassion using evidence-based treatment.

As a Certified EMDRIA Therapist, also trained in Trauma therapy, Cognitive Behavior therapy, DBT, and Mindfulness practice I will work collaboratively with you to identify which approach supports your unique need (s). My extensive experience informs my ability to help you heal from difficult or traumatic life events, high anxiety, depression, grief, and loss, or self-harming behaviour. My priority is to provide you with a supportive, understanding and safe therapeutic environment.

My life experiences inform my practice. Being married for 33 years to a spouse in law enforcement and raising three children, now young adults have increased my empathy, compassion, and understanding for individuals experiencing distress.

A respectful therapeutic relationship is important for healing; driving my mission to support you through life-enhancing, holistic therapy in an environment that honours your privacy and integrity. I aim to help you recognize your personal strengths and resilient qualities so you may navigate life's challenges with confidence.

Indigenous - As a trauma-informed therapist I serve Indigenous people on reserve and at my office. Over 20 years of experience informs my work with First Nations and Metis peoples. See my website for extensive details - www.charlainerobinson.com

First Responders are the front-line defense to ensure the safety of the community for which I take very seriously. Personal and professional experience and training inform my ability to provide strong therapeutic service to Police, Fire Fighters, Paramedics, and Corrections Officers. I understand the unique challenges Police, Fire Fighters, and Paramedics face and how Occupational Stress Injury may impact you, your partner and family. The unique work environment and stressors you face increase your vulnerability to Occupational Stress Injury from which I may help you to heal.  I completed the BCPFFA Occupational Awareness Training and am endorsed by the BC Professional Fire Fighters Association.

Group work – September 2019 – Dr. Alan Smitton and I will facilitate a Group for Partners of Law Enforcement members. Partners, you will receive support to help you cope with the stress of being a loved one living with a first responder. You will learn skills to help you navigate your personal needs and the needs of your family. Please contact Ronnie Sidhu, MPH, or myself at plegroup@hotmail.com for more information.
