Council Bluffs Comprehensive Treatment Center View Specialties

Council Bluffs Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) is located in Council Bluffs, Iowa. We are a premier provider of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid addiction. Our CTC assists individuals who are struggling with addictions to heroin, oxycodone, and other prescription and nonprescription opioids. Our programming is designed for adults age 18 and older. We serve all genders.

Medication-assisted treatment is a highly researched, evidence-based service that integrates prescription medications and talk therapies to help patients determine and reach their recovery goals. Council Bluffs CTC is not the old model of a methadone clinic; we are a modern outpatient addiction treatment facility that has well-trained, qualified staff members who are invested in the success of our patients.

Unlike at some clinics that can only prescribe methadone, our patients may receive a combination of Suboxone, naltrexone, methadone, and buprenorphine. The FDA-approved medications we provide have proved to ease the symptoms of opioid withdrawal, which can be severe. In some cases, withdrawal can even be life-threatening. Relapse during the withdrawal process is the most serious concern and can lead to a fatal overdose. MAT programs reduce the urge to relapse and help protect patients from the dangers of overdosing.

We conduct a complete assessment to identify our patients’ needs and determine which therapies will best support their success. Every person has a different recovery experience. Closely monitoring the effects of medications allows us to adjust treatment as needed. Individualized treatment plans are one of the services Council Bluffs CTC provides. Medications are an important part of our opioid addiction treatment, but the therapies offered at our treatment center support patients’ success in recovery. These therapeutic components are what make us a comprehensive treatment center.

Our patients participate in both group and individual therapy. Engaging in these therapies provides patients with the opportunity to gain essential information about recovery and share support with peers. One-on-one therapy is an important tool for exploring past traumas and behaviors that may have led to opioid addiction. In counseling, patients learn skills that can help them avoid relapse, such as stress management and conflict resolution.

The team at Council Bluffs Comprehensive Treatment Center welcomes each patient warmly and without judgment. We understand that concerns about treatment may prevent an individual from receiving the support they need. We work hard to ensure that the intake process is efficient and thorough and that each patient is treated with respect and compassion.
