Downtown Portland Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) opioid use disorder program is a leading provider of outpatient addiction treatment in Portland, Oregon. Our programming serves adults age 18 and older and is open to all genders. We provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for people who are struggling with opioid addiction.

Medication-assisted treatment uses FDA-approved medications to help ease the painful symptoms of opioid withdrawal. Our MAT program offers several effective medications for treating withdrawal. By eliminating severe withdrawal effects, MAT removes a major obstacle to recovery. Medication-assisted treatment also saves lives. Relapse can be fatal for people who have opioid use disorder. MAT protects patients from a fatal overdose while they adjust to a new life free of opioids. Decades of scientific study has shown that MAT helps people achieve their recovery goals and provides more positive outcomes. Traditional methadone clinics are only allowed to prescribe methadone, but methadone is not equally effective for every patient. At Downtown Portland CTC, we can prescribe methadone, buprenorphine, and Suboxone. By offering various medications, our program can help more people. Our compassionate staff works closely with each patient to make sure that medication protocols are performing properly. Through careful assessment, we can adjust the dosages and/or the medications prescribed to ensure effective treatment.

At Downtown Portland CTC, we’re committed to making the admissions process as fast and easy as possible, but thorough health evaluations are still necessary. During the intake process, patients can expect to undergo a series of simple tests designed to ascertain their goals and needs. Treatment at Downtown Portland CTC is a collaborative experience. Our team is dedicated to your well-being and will do all they can to help you reach your recovery goals. However, patients must fully participate in all aspects of treatment, including sharing accurate information during the assessment.

The information gathered during the health assessment, including addiction and health history, helps our skilled clinicians build a fully individualized treatment plan for each patient. As a comprehensive treatment center, it is vital that we also address the mental health needs of our patients. Group and individual therapies provide opportunities for personal growth and healing of things that may have led to opioid use. Group therapy gives patients the chance to build relationships with peers and practice the important skills they are learning in treatment. Managing stress, resolving conflicts, and improved communication skills are all essential for avoiding relapse and maintaining long-term recovery.
