Located in beautiful Fall River, Massachusetts, Fall River Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) provides outpatient addiction treatment for adults age 18 and older. Opioid addiction recovery requires compassionate, individualized care, and our staff members comprise a leading team of professionals dedicated to providing premier addiction treatment.

At Fall River CTC, we offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for our patients. MAT is a safe and effective treatment modality that combines the use of certain prescription medications with various therapies, including options for individual counseling and group counseling. When a person uses opioids for a long period, their body adjusts and compensates for the presence of that substance, chemically altering itself in the process. When the body no longer is exposed to that substance, it must again alter itself chemically. This process takes place during detoxification. Some uncomfortable symptoms can accompany detoxification, including headaches, nausea, tremors, trouble sleeping, paranoia, restlessness, and many others.

Medications used during treatment at Fall River CTC are intended to ease these uncomfortable symptoms that can occur as a person’s body adjusts to the absence of the opioid it had gotten used to. Many people have heard of methadone as a leading medication that is often used to help patients during the detox process. While methadone is effective and available at Fall River CTC, many additional prescription medications can be used during medication-assisted treatment. These include Suboxone and buprenorphine. Individual counseling is an important part of recovery for people who struggle with symptoms of opioid addiction. This one-on-one time with a professional gives patients the chance to focus on their own recovery goals and zero in on themselves and their particular needs. Group counseling is offered for our patients as a means of building their support systems and strengthening their resolve through sharing experiences. Opioid addiction can have a way of making people feel isolated, but group counseling can help alleviate those feelings as trust among group members builds. Group members also benefit from the experiences of others who have been in situations similar to theirs.

At Fall River CTC, patients receive personalized treatment plans according to their specific situations. These treatment plans outline prescriptions that may be written for them as well as the type of counseling that will take place. Our team is dedicated to providing much-needed support and encouragement for patients as they learn healthy coping skills to meet their recovery goals and prevent relapse in the future."
